Membership in CARS
CARS – Central Asia Research Society brings together researchers, students, professionals and all those interested in the cultural heritage, history and archaeology of Central Asia. The Society supports research, education and international cooperation focused on the protection and sustainable development of the region’s cultural heritage.
Membership in CARS offers an opportunity to become part of an interdisciplinary community, to share research interests, participate in selected activities of the Society and contribute to the study and promotion of Central Asian cultural heritage.
Membership categories
- Student membership
Student membership is intended for university students interested in the research of Central Asia. Members become part of a professional community, gain access to contacts in the field, may present their own research, receive the CARS Newsletter four times a year, receive invitations to events, conferences and expeditions, may publish on the CARS website and social media, and may participate in projects and small grant competitions. Student members also receive a certificate of membership.
Annual membership fee: 250 CZK / 15 USD. - Regular membership
Regular membership is intended for researchers, professionals and active members of the Society. It includes all benefits of student membership, as well as voting rights at member meetings, access to the Society’s library, and free access to educational videos and conference recordings.
Annual membership fee: 500 CZK / 25 USD. - Institutional membership
Institutional membership is intended for universities, museums, research institutions and cultural organisations. It includes the benefits of regular membership, the listing of the organisation’s logo on the CARS website and in publications, cooperation on projects, exhibitions and expeditions, access to research outputs for teaching, and the possibility of cooperation under the CARS brand. - Lifetime membership
Lifetime membership is intended for long-term supporters and partners of the Society. It provides permanent membership with all rights of a regular member, together with honorary listing on the CARS website and in the annual report.
One-time membership fee: 10,000 CZK / 500 USD.
How to become a member
Applicants for membership should complete and sign the membership application form. The completed application can be sent electronically to office@archeo.kg or by post to the registered address of the Society.
After approval by the Board, applicants will receive confirmation of acceptance and payment instructions for the membership fee.
